Migrating from Sage Line 50 to Sage MMS

The Company

DWS Bodyworks are one of the largest and most successful vehicle repair organisations in the UK. With four locations throughout the UK, DWS are chosen by many of the leading insurance companies to carry out vehicle repairs.

Background

Having used Sage Line 50 Financial Controller for a number of years, it became recognised that Sage Line was struggling to cope with the high volume of transactions and increasing number of users.

Sage MMS

It was decided to investigate alternatives and Sage MMS was chosen as the replacement.

The data was electronically converted and the system was quickly implemented.

There was naturally a period of re-education for the staff at DWS, but the migration has provided many significant advantages and benefits including:

• Ability to control financial period accounting due to more disciplined month end procedures.
• Improved performance and improved data handling.
• Ability to analysis the nominal ledger with cost centre and department analysis.
• Extensive budgeting and comparison reporting.
• Improved automated payment routines to suppliers.
• Ability to “integrate” with 3rd party software applications and import of data.

DWS makes excellent use of the Sage MMS ODBC drivers which allow data from Sage MMS to be electronically imported and manipulated in Microsoft Excel.
