Sage MMS : Choice of Business Partner

The Company

Prospects College, established in 1969, are one of the largest vocational training colleges in the UK. Being a registered charity, Prospects College offer a variety of courses including : Engineering, Construction and Information Technology. There are two main divisions with Prospects—government sponsored training and private training. Private clients include many multi-national organisations.

Background

Having used Access Accounts for a number of years, it was recognised that there was missing functionality particularly with financial reporting. Alternative software products were investigated and it was decided to implement Sage MMS due to improved functionality and features.

Sage MMS

Sage MMS was successfully implemented in 2003 following the electronic conversion of data from Access Accounts which dramatically sped up the implementation process.

Since being implemented there have been many significant benefits including :

• Ability to produce financial reports by cost centre and department.
• Improved summary reporting and departmental “costs” reporting.
• Budget analysis and over budget warning reporting.
• Integration with 3rd party applications.
• Ability to integrate with Excel using Sage MMS ODBC Drivers.

Ongoing Relationship

Prospects College are planning significant expansion over the next few years and it is planned to implement Sage MMS v3 during 2006.
